Departementet kan i forskrift eller ved enkeltvedtak pålegge regionale helseforetak, helseforetak, fylkeskommuner og kommuner å innrapportere anonyme data eller indirekte identifiserbare helseopplysninger, uten hensyn til taushetsplikt, til statistikk.
